Each of us has the ability to make a difference in the lives of others around us. We choose to energize the people we are in contact with or we choose to deplete people of their energy. Think about a time when you felt fantastic, energized in another's company. Think about the opposite. Those people who consciously are aware of their positive actions are the true examples for us to look to and take direction from. Positive, energized people live a positive, energized life and walk a constructive path. When you meet such a person listen to them, learn from them, and drink in the goodness of their energy.
Today make a conscious choice, if needed, to change the way you interact with others and yourself. You, and only you, have the ability to change yourself into a positive person. Allow yourself the beauty to see what positive people see, to feel what positive people feel, and to walk the higher trail that is available to each and every one of us.
Philippine population continued to grow at a rapid (76.5 million as of May 2000 and with inflation rate of 5.7% of September 2006). As of January 2006, 35.2 million populations of unemployed and annually had boosted the percentage of squatters in the city’s total population (preliminary results from Philippine Labor Force survey published Friday, April 07, 2006 by Pinoy Tambay website). It is a fact that when the fuel price at world market increases the basic needs price will high too and any political insurgent in the country the value of peso will decline. Life is getting harder. Most of the low-income people including me grab to play the lottery because we believe that it could be our ticket out of poverty.
Just a reflection: After graduated in high school, I was included in the unemployed statistic. Then, I am among the underemployed for 3 years. That’s better than having no job at all. Anyway, I know that a person has a better chance of getting struck by lightening than winning the lottery jackpot but because of stiff living what play in mind is what if I will win?
“I will keep all the memories in my heart ‘till the day when my memories will fail to recall and locate the steps where I exactly started.”
It seems just a while way back June 7, 1991 when I got hired as production operator in one of the multi-companies in Mactan Export Processing Zone. I’ve been working in Lear Corporation with love and dedication of my work. I put my heart into it in every single task hoping that I may be able to share my talent and the blessings that I have to my family.
My goal in life is an inspiration to me to move on despite of struggles and difficulties, being motivated to do the daily tasks from production operator to machine operator then to utility operator, and promoted as engineering aide and currently as process engineer. With this job, I was able to send my siblings to school. In the span of time I met some special friends that continually supported me and encouraged to pursue my college (I have taken AB Industrial Psychology because I knew this would help me discover my personality and a prerequisite course to pursue my... These days, it's so fashionable to give in to the belief that this country is hopeless, that it's catch as catch can and the devil take the hindmost. But every once in a while, a story comes along that stands out because it highlights the best in every Filipino --- the traits that we sometimes forget we have and that others have to see in us before we even remember that they exist.
Then you realize we are only hopeless if we think we are. And we can actually do something to improve the lives of people around us if we set our minds to it.
Many have heard the story of Dylan Wilks , the rich young Englishman who started a life of improving the...
When I was a kid I used to say, “When I grow up I want to be a priest.” I remember that my first thought about priesthood was when I was in grade school. I didn’t exactly know what priesthood was but I really like and wanted to wear that white uniform. Then while I wasn’t paying attention, one day, childhood snuck away from me and suddenly I found myself up.
I am devoted to Sr. Sto. Niño (a child image of Jesus). I regularly attended the mass on Sabbath day. In our sitio (a small community within the barangay), I led all young children in our community bringing with us the statue of Sr. Sto. Niño and Virgin Mary to neighboring households for a visit and rosary.
My first inkling that God called me was in senior high school. I always attended religion classes, I remember one day when we had visitors (seminarians) who talked about priest life. What really struck me were the lyrics when I heard the song “Here I am”.“I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? That...
